📍 Iraq - Basra – Al-Zubair
We are seeking an experienced General Ledger Accounting Supervisor to oversee general ledger activities, ensure accurate accounting records, and support timely financial closing and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise general ledger activities and review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and accounting adjustments.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
• Review general ledger reconciliations and resolve outstanding differences.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting, depreciation, additions, and disposals.
• Support financial statement preparation and management reporting.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cost Accounting, Treasury, and Financial Planning and Analysis teams to ensure complete and accurate financial records.
• Support internal and external audits and strengthen accounting processes and controls.
Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Relevant experience in general ledger accounting and financial closing, including team supervision.
• Manufacturing or pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting.
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems.
• CPA, ACCA, or a relevant professional qualification is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to meet reporting deadlines.
